Since getting back into my painting, I have been grabbing every spare minute to paint. Currently I have about 10 paintings on the go, this is normal for me I like to work on several at once, I hate when colours become muddied and so add as much as I can to one canvas and then set it aside to dry and pick up another one.
I did wonder if my style of painting would of changed in the few years without painting, could it evolve without work, just as a passage of time? I would have to say it has changed, perhaps this is natural and obvious, I have changed in those years and so the art I make must also be different.
Changed, but some much more than others, some of the canvases I have just done definitely feel like the older paintings style, with figures hinted at in the abstraction, some are more purely abstract. I have just finished a canvas though that I feel is a break from the past and I hope will be more of a direction that I will be going into.
I am loving the colours and the composition at the moment and feel even more inspired to paint than ever, I would love to know what you think of it, please let me know.

New Etsy Art Gallery

I have been having a bit of a spring clean, even though there is little evidence of any spring weather coming any time soon! I decided that the creative juices are flowing once again, they have been quite slow for a few years now due to sleepless nights with small children and the constant demands of the web design business, but I am slowly beginning to feel more like myself once again.
With this in mind I decided to clear out much of my old artworks and even craft bits that I will not be using again to make room for my new creations, its quite therapeutic and I feel a bit like a reformed hoarder ( not quite as bad as  the ones on the telly – as yet !).
I have set up a shop on Etsy and have started listing up some artworks onto it, this is just the beginning, I will be listing a lot more. I know it will take time and sales may be a long way off, but its a great opportunity to artists and crafts people.
When I first started selling art during my degree, the opportunities to get the public to see your art was limited, it involved constant networking,  frequent nerve racking presentations of your portfolio to art galleries and the all to frequent rejections. Not that it wasn't fun in some part, but it was difficult, Etsy has made it much easier to place your work in the view of the interested. Yes its a very big pool with a lot of very big fish in it and we all must start as minnows but it is an opening and fresh possibilities and for that I am grateful.

Birds Illustration

I always love illustrations of birds, and while working on a new one, I had a happy accident. Dragging in new layers I overlapped three of the birds and quite liked it.

I like nothing better than inadvertently stumbling on something nice while playing around.
